The Braveheart Scholarship Fund
Oneness Project established the Tom Braveheart Scholarship Fund in memory of
Tom Boyington, a devoted peace dancer who
participated widely in Oneness camps and activities in the 1990’s. In 2008 the
fund changed its name to The Braveheart Scholarship Fund as it merged
with a scholarship fund set up in honor of another dancer, Mark Kurey, after his
passing. The fund now honors all those that have participated in Dances of
Universal Peace and the mission remains the same.
The Fund’s mission is to offer grant
money as heart gifts to persons with medical disabilities, to their caregivers
and to the recently bereaved to attend Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) events.
Grant
awards are based on the need of the applicant, the applicant’s depth of
association with the Dances of Universal Peace, and the likelihood of the
project to fulfill the purpose of the Braveheart
Fund.
Who May Apply?
Braveheart Fund grants are made to individuals who have special
needs (medical, developmental, etc.), their caregivers, and to those recently bereaved
for participation in Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) events. Individuals may
submit an application or a personal representative may apply for a Braveheart scholarship on their behalf. Dance circles or
other nonprofit organizations may also apply on behalf of individuals. Travel
to DUP events (both internationally and within the United States), visa expenses, DUP
event tuition/registration fees, room and board costs, and related expenses are
eligible for support through this program.

Donations to the Braveheart
Fund are tax-deductible and can be made at any time. You may make your check
payable to Oneness Project, P.O.
