Dance Leader Training
Grant Program
Overview

Our Dance Leader Training (DLT) program provides financial assistance to qualified leaders of the Dances of Universal Peace to pay for training in dance leading, and for travel and lodging to attend training events.

Here's how the program works. Leaders of the Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) who are mentored, supervised and/or certified dance leaders and who are on the Mentor Teachers Guild (MTG) referral list are eligible to apply. Applicants must also be paid-up members of the International Network for the Dances of Universal Peace (INDUP) and/or the Sufi Ruhaniat International.

Oneness Project determines which DUP training events are eligible for grants based on several criteria, including staff qualifications and the content of the training event. Once we certify that the training event is eligible for funding, the training organizer publicizes that attendees may apply to Oneness Project for support.

Attendees may then apply to Oneness Project using the above DLT Application any time up until 6 weeks prior to the start of the training event. Generally, the amount of the grant will be limited to 50% of the total tuition, lodging and travel costs for attending the event, and will not exceed $500 total. Only individuals who have been registered with the MTG as mentored or supervised for at least two (2) years may apply for grants to support intercontinental travel. Other policies describing eligibility and the application process are described in the full guidelines.

The DLT administrator will email applicants a confirmation that their application has been received and an estimated date that you will be informed whether you will receive a DLT grant award. The official notification of award will generally be sent within a week to 10 days following the closing deadline (six weeks prior to the event). All grantees must file a final report with Oneness Project within one month following the conclusion of the event documenting their experience of the training. Future funding is dependent upon receiving timely reports.

If you're ready to apply, or want more information go on to the full 2008 DLT Guidelines and Application Form.

We remind mentors and training organizers planning a training event in 2008 to submit a 2008 DLT Event Eligibility Application to DLT administrator Nuria Lee (nuria@onenessproject.com) by January 6, 2008 and complete other requirements in order for their training to quality for funding from this program in 2008. The Event Eligibility Application enables Oneness Project to begin the process of certifying the event's eligibility for funding and also to budget adequate funds for the year.
