DECISIONS of Board of Directors

Condensed from the minutes.

Assign management of Wilderness Dance camp to Events Committee to budget, plan and manage camp.

We will conduct a board meeting on January 4 - 7 in Bozeman. Trustees Council, Committee heads, prospects who have a serious interest are invited. Travel expenses will be paid for people who are invited. Munir, Tony, Lyn, Robert, Jerry, Narayan, Zareen, Wayne, and Lee will attend.

Jerry has agreed to renew his term on Trustees Council for two more years.

We will sign an agreement, as written up by Narayan, with Jelaladin to produce the Zikr CD with his melody and pay him stated royalties for same.

Trustees agree that Events Committee will appoint the spiritual director for Wilderness Dance Camp.

We agree to keep the provision that requests over $5000 need to go through the Grants committee chair first and be presented three months in advance.

We accept the invitation of the Ruhaniat society to send a representative to their event.

Linda is a trustee in training and being mentored by Zareen to take her position.

Talia is still a trustee in training.

The Oneness Project will not award endowment funds through the grants committee for capital projects.

 

AGREEMENTS OF BOD, 11/30/2000

We will pursue partnerships on Whidbey Island.

Lyn Wandell and Robert Gluckson will pursue a land opportunity in southern Oregon.

 

Goals and Objectives for 2001

Adopted December 1, 2000

  1. Work cooperatively with the Dance Network and the Sufi Islamia Ruhaniat Society to support the Dances of Universal Peace in the spirit and tradition of Murshid Samuel L. Lewis.
  2. Provide opportunities to "eat, dance and pray together" for our core constituency
  3. Continue to reach out to a growing constituency outside of our core area.
  4. Support projects undertaken by dance communities to enhance and develop their local dance activities.
  5. Establish one or more retreat centers for the Dances of Universal Peace with the possibility of an intentional community growing up around a center.
  6. Encourage excellence in dance leading, musicianship and dance meeting facilitation.
  7. Promote familiarity with dance music and spread the spirit of the dances far and wide.
  8. Develop programs to enable children and youth to enjoy the Dances of Universal Peace and to have meaningful experiences at Wilderness Camp and other Oneness retreats.
  9. Provide an effective, compassionate and harmonious Trustees Council to administer the Oneness Project.
