Plan Be
This year Wilderness Dance Camp will
again be held at the Flathead Lake United Methodist Camp south of Kalispell,
Montana. We welcome you to join us for a week filled with Dances of Universal
Peace, living in nurturing community, exploring ourselves, each other, and new
ways to meaningfully connect. We are honored to have Allaudin Ottinger as our
spiritual elder and Narayan Eric Waldman, our camp director.
Our camp on Flathead Lake offers opportunities to canoe, kayak, swim, stroll the beautiful grounds, and sit in solitude as well as come together with beloveds to Eat, Dance, and Pray together. There is a large meadow to set up our Dance tent, a Lodge for eating and gathering, a chapel with a 35' stage for late night gatherings and performances, individual classroom cabins for crafts, classes, children's program, and a teen gathering place. The beach area has tables, benches, shade, a large dock, and canoes for camper's use. There is a central play area in front of the Lodge with a ping pong table, horseshoe pits, basketball and volleyball courts, and swings for the young and young at heart.
Accommodation options include group cabins, each with a sitting area and simple kitchen with basic utensils along with a porch overlooking the lake. There are bunk beds in dorm style rooms of varying sizes and some smaller rooms and a few double beds (reserve early). The grounds offer a variety of tent sites among the tall pines and there are a few RV spaces with electrical hooks in the center of camp. The camp offers two large bathhouses with showers, one at each end of camp.
Scenes from the 2009 camp are posted below to help you envision our surroundings. Click here to view images from last year's camp.
